HEY fellows! Here we are finally, after a couple of long days of travelling and not sleeping. As you may have understood, I left with my two companeros from Helsinki on Saturday evening. The flight was about half an hour late, which means that we left around 8.30pm, and it took 7hours. It was quite a long flight. The seat was too small for my long legs so I actually could not sleep, but whatever, complaining never helps, so we arrived to Delhi.
The airport was quite small but lovely, with birds flying around a people from different cultures. After some kind of negotiation, we reached the New Delhi Railway Station by cab, whose driver was a funny little man. We were all physically and mentally very tired and we tried to stay into the office of ticket reservation, but it was not fine to the chief, who after a couple of hours told us to wait somewhere else. We had two train alternatives: one left at 7am and the other at 5pm. Arring at the station around 8-9am, we did not have any choice but wait for the next train for about 8 hours. I can tell you that that required patience and forbearance: the station was a complete chaos, very rural and dirty, it was hot (35-40degrees) and I, personally, had not slept for 25hours. After all, it was not that bad, instead it was very enriching staring at this completely different environment, full of such a vaste variety and quantity of people, from the ones 1.40m tall, to the ones almost 2m tall, with different features, clothes and behaviour. Unfortunately photographing was forbidden at the station, so I only have a couple of photos I took with my phone.
Later on, the journey by train was very confortable. We had a first class ticket, which means that you are offered a cabin for four persons, with two beds and air conditioner. This journey by train took about 5hours and finally we arrived to this place.
The lodge we are staying at is lovely. People are kind and sweet. Yesterday they offered us dinner at 11pm. At 5am we had the morning call and at 5.30am we were on a jeep heading to the National Park, which is 6km far from here. We searched the tiger for hours and did not find it. How ever, we did saw loads of other species and I will try to load the photos in the evening, after our second safari. Then I will probably tell you more things, because I think I just wrote a very long post. I am quite exhausted, hence, will you excuse me and let me take a nap before the second trip in the jungle. And I apologyse for my English, I cannot speak any language in this particular moment of fatigue.
