In the morning of the 21st we arrived in New Delhi by train.
(I must apologyze for the bad quality of the photos, but I had to take them with my Nokia phone)
There was a demostration there, which made the city even more chaotic and crowded.
When we were waiting for our car, Max was called by the Finnair Company and we were asked to go to the airport as soon as possible if we wanted to fly for certain. At that point we did not have many choices and we drove straight to the airport. The airport was pretty well organized, but one funny thing was that we had to sign a paper before getting into the plane. By signing it, the air company made us responsable for our own lives if any crash or something would have occurred. Very reassuring, wasn't it? That is how things work, so finally we got into the plane and took off.
For once I could sleep, probably because I was very tired and would have fell asleep even on a bed made of nails. Everything seemed to work, maybe too well and I thought it could not be that easy and fluent... so TADAAAM, I was right! There had to be somenthing! In fact, when we were above Helsinki, a hostess announced that we were not going to land there, but the plane had to go to Rovaniemi. So, there we flew.
I experienced one of the biggest contrasts in my life: from the hot and crowded Delhi, to the calm and wintry Rovaniemi, Santa Claus' hometown. Fortunately everything was well-organized. Straight after receiving our pieces of luggage we were guided to the busses, which took us to a very nice hotel where we slept and had breakfast in the morning. The next day we went to the airport and after waiting many hours we got into the plane that led us to Helsinki.
During the sojourn in Rovaniemi I met some very nice people and the day after returning to Helsinki, I showed my hometown to two Norwegians. They were great, we had a lot of fun being tourists in Helsinki. The weather here is awful: cold, keeps on changing from sunny to snowing and it is very windy. In sum, quite a shock for me. However, it is lovely to see my friends and there are so many things waiting to be told.
I am off for now,
Have a lovely Sunday, my dears!
